rsokolovНа той неделе судья восьмого округа запретила агентам ICE поливать мирных наблюдателей и протестующих перцовкой и задерживать их без должной причины (фрагмент решения).
А в среду федеральный апелляционный суд это решение отменил.
A Friday ruling by U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez had prevented the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement from detaining or tear gassing people who are engaging in peaceful and unobstructive protest, including observing Operation Metro Surge, which is the feds’ name for the incursion of over 3,000 immigration officers and agents in the Twin Cities.
The Wednesday decision granted Homeland Security its request for an administrative stay of Friday’s preliminary injunction. Ten of the 11 judges in the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, which granted the stay, were appointed by Republican presidents, including four judges appointed by President Donald Trump.

Four hours of patrol, ZERO confirmed or suspected ICE. They’re trying to hide but they can’t hide that well. They may well come back but for now Uptown seems to have effectively driven DHS out.

I saw one ICE car on Monday and Tuesday combined. Then yesterday I saw three armed convoys and probably half a dozen secret-police style cars. They were behind every corner
Ну вот не могут айсы ловить нелегалов так, чтобы при этом не помять граждан, пользующихся своими конституционными правами, утверждает министерство внутренней безопасности, и судьям ничего не оставалось делать, как пойти ему навстречу.
Вообще, номера и границы федеральных окружных юрисдикций стоит знать так же, как названия штатов. Очень многое в местных проблемах и местной политике зависит от подобной вот чехарды решений федеральных судов.
